More than 30 modern retro streetcars "Dovlatov" handed over to St. Petersburg


St. Petersburg received 34 modern low-floor streetcars model 71-421R "Dovlatov". The contract for the delivery was fulfilled by Rostec.
TV channel "78" with reference to the corporation specifies that "Gorelectrotrans" received 34 new two-section trains. According to Dmitry Bun'kov, the chief designer of civilian products of Uraltransmash JSC, the city received 22 streetcars under a direct contract and 12 - under leasing.
Now there are 52 "smart" cars in the streetcar fleet. In addition to "Dovlatov" there are 18 "Dostoevsky". In 2025, 24 more "Dostoevsky" cars will be delivered to St. Petersburg.
Low-floor streetcars "Dovlatov" and "Dostoevsky" on a new level repeat the look of LM-57 - Leningrad streetcar of the 1960s, which was nicknamed "stylaga".
Rostec said that the new trains were developed taking into account the steep turns of St. Petersburg's historic track facilities, having created a special bogie for this purpose. Such cars can pass curved sections with a radius of 14 meters.
In mid-November, large class electric buses with night charging "Sirius" were launched in St. Petersburg. They serve route No. 128 connecting Vasileostrovsky and Petrogradsky districts. The electric buses are painted in green color. It was chosen by the city residents during an open vote on the governor's official social media page.
