Vilfand told about the weather in Moscow in the last week of December
Warm days without heavy frosts and precipitation are expected in the Moscow region in the last week of the year. This was reported by the scientific head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand on December 25.
In conversation with TASS, the expert noted that in the capital the air temperature will be three to four degrees above the norm, no cold weather is predicted on the eve of the New Year.
Vilfand said that significant precipitation before the weekend should not be expected. The weather will remain dry due to high atmospheric pressure, which will exceed the norm by 20-25 mm of mercury column, notes the website kp.ru.
The forecaster added that until December 30, the temperature for this period will be high: in the afternoon thermometer columns will show about 0 degrees Celsius.
Earlier in the day, forecaster of the Meteo forecasting center Alexander Ilyin warned that the atmospheric pressure on Thursday will be high - 765 mm of mercury column, then it will slowly begin to fall to 745-747 mm of mercury column, RT writes.
On December 24, Roman Vilfand said that there is "a mystery" in the expected weather on December 31, but it is certain that the New Year will not be cold. The average daily air temperature for December 31 in the capital region is -5 ... -7 degrees Celsius, while the night temperature should be about -8 ... -10 degrees Celsius, writes IA Regnum.
On December 23, specialist of the information agency Meteonovosti Tatyana Pozdnyakova told "Moscow 24" that a slight frost will set in Moscow on New Year's Eve. Pozdnyakova emphasized that this is only a preliminary forecast. At the same time, experts do not expect significant precipitation until the end of December.
