UAZ modernizes the manual gearbox of "Patriot"

Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant has planned to modernize the gearbox on the cars of the new model year. This is reported in the latest issue of the corporate newspaper "Panorama UAZ", which was published on December 25.
In the first quarter of 2025, the five-speed manual transmission, which is installed also on the SUV "Patriot", will receive upgrades. The changes are aimed at improving the quality and eliminating oil leaks from the transmission through the upper cover of the gearshift mechanism.
Thus, an additional layer of sealant will be applied to the lower part of the gearshift mechanism to improve tightness and prevent leakage. Additional rings will be installed on the rod of the mechanism, which will provide better fixation of the collar and increase the reliability of the system. On the side cover of the gearbox will be installed breather for pressure relief, which will avoid the formation of excess pressure inside the box.
December 20, it was reported that in March next year the UAZ "Profi" with a diesel engine with a six-speed manual transmission will be introduced to the market. And in November, an all-wheel drive version will be available with the same diesel engine. Then, at the end of fall, the Ulyanovsk automobile plant is preparing the debut of the updated SUV "UAZ Patriot".
Two days earlier, a source at the Ulyanovsk automobile plant told Izvestia that the production of UAZ vehicles in Cuba is scheduled to begin in February 2025. He noted that the Cuban side is currently finalizing the preparation of the assembly site. According to preliminary information, the Republic of Cuba is planning to establish production of Patriot and Pickup models from Russian vehicle kits.
