The husband of one of the passengers of the crashed Azerbaijan Airlines plane, Bashir Igidov, said that he could not contact his wife Narmina and did not know what happened to her. The man told about this in a conversation with Izvestia on December 25.

"I don't know anything yet myself, I'm in a stupor. She flew from Baku, I found out yesterday, and in the morning before boarding [the plane] the eldest daughter talked to her. And that's all, we don't know anything else," he said.

An interlocutor of the publication explained that the wife was flying to visit her daughter for the holidays. According to him, Narmina was last online in the morning. The family of the airplane passenger has not yet applied to the hotline for information.

A passenger plane of Azerbaijan Airlines, traveling on the Baku-Grozny route, crashed near the Kazakh city of Aktau earlier in the day. The plane caught fire after the crash, the fire was extinguished. According to the latest data, 29 people survived the accident, 11 victims were sent to intensive care.

Preliminary, the cause of the accident could be a collision with a flock of birds. On the fact of the crash, a criminal case has been opened under the article "Violation of safety rules in the operation of vehicles, causing the death of two or more persons by negligence".

The Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) told Izvestia that there were no organized groups of Russian tourists on board the Azerbaijan Airlines plane that crashed in Aktau. Later, the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan reported that, according to preliminary information, there were 16 Russians on board.
