A man who set fire to a house with five tenants has been taken into custody in Moscow Region. This was reported on Wednesday, December 25, by the source of "Izvestiya".

In June, in the village of Sharapovo, Chekhov district, a 41-year-old man, having conceived a murder, poured gasoline from a canister on the door mat, then set it on fire with a lighter. Five people, including children, were in the house that caught fire. Having discovered the fire, the inhabitants of the house managed to leave it.

As a result of arson, the house, garage and property were completely destroyed. The damage is estimated at more than 2.5 million rubles.

The arsonist has a previous conviction for embezzlement of funds. At the moment he is under arrest.

Earlier, on December 5, in the Kemerovo region, a man set fire to a house because of the owners' refusal to let him in. As a result of the incident, two people died. Law enforcement agencies detained the suspect, he confessed.
