- An exhibition on the history of the Orlov family opened in the Novgorod Museum-Reserve

The exposition "The History of Russia is the History of Families. Orlov family" opened on December 25 in the Museum of Folk Wooden Architecture "Vitoslavlitsy" in the manor house of Countess A.A. Orlova-Chesmenskaya, said the press service of VTB, which supported the project.
"The history of the Orlov family is a story of devotion, nobility and service to people. The new exposition of the Novgorod Museum-Reserve will allow us to rethink these concepts and feel the spirit of the time. Such projects not only preserve historical heritage, but also unite people around the values of kindness and charity, which are so important today," said VTB Senior Vice President Natalia Kochneva.
For the first time, the exposition reveals in detail the fate of the famous noble family and its role in the history of Russia. More than 200 rare exhibits, including miniature portraits of the Orlov family members of the 1770s, works of arts and crafts and personal belongings of Countess A.A. Orlova-Chesmenskaya, are displayed in the halls of the estate. Also on display are items related to her charitable activities - jewelry and church relics related to the restoration of the churches of the St. George Monastery and other Novgorod monasteries.
