Resurs-P Earth remote sensing satellite No. 5 launched into orbit

The Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle has put into orbit the Resurs-P Earth remote sensing (ERS) satellite No. i5. This was reported on December 25 on the website of the state corporation "Roscosmos".
The rocket with the satellite was launched on December 25 at 10:45 Moscow time from the 31st site of Baikonur Cosmodrome.
"The launch of the satellite into the specified orbit and its separation from the rocket's third stage is normal. It was an anniversary, 2000th launch for rockets of the R-7 family," Roscosmos said in a statement.
Earlier, on March 31, at 12:36 Moscow time, the fourth launch of the Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle with the Resurs-P remote sensing system took place from the Baikonur Cosmodrome. Nine minutes and 23 seconds after the launch, the satellite separated from the rocket's third stage and was put into orbit.
"Resurs-P" is part of a series of Russian satellites for remote sensing of the Earth, as well as regional and local monitoring of its surface. The data from this satellite are used to study natural resources, control pollution and environmental degradation, and monitor water protection and protected areas.
