Restrictions on the reception and release of aircrafts at Kazan airport have been lifted. This was reported on December 25 by spokesman for the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) Artem Korenyako.

"During the period of restrictions, six flights bound for Kazan "left" for alternate airfields," he wrote in his Telegram channel.

Temporary restrictions on the work of the airport of Kazan were introduced earlier in the day.

Before that, on December 21, Rosaviatsia also imposed restrictions on the reception and dispatch of flights at Kazan airport for security purposes after the Ukrainian drone attack on Tatarstan.

At the same time, the Defense Ministry reported that a drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) was destroyed over Tatarstan around 7:50 Moscow time. Later, the Kazan mayor's office specified that as a result of the strikes there was a fire in houses in the Sovetsky and Kirovsky districts. The arrival of the drone was recorded on video. In addition, the source of "Izvestiya" reported that the drone hit a house in the residential complex "Manhattan".

The AFU is trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
