The preliminary cause of the crash of Azerbaijan Airlines passenger plane in Kazakhstan's Aktau was a collision with a flock of birds. This was reported by "Sputnik Azerbaijan" on December 25 with reference to the airline's message.
"According to preliminary information, the cause of the incident was the collision of the airplane with a flock of birds, the company said," the message published in the Telegram channel reads.
A passenger plane of Azerbaijan Airlines, heading from Baku to Grozny, crashed near the city of Aktau earlier in the day. It was specified that earlier an emergency signal was given from the board. The airplane caught fire, EMERCOM specialists and equipment were sent to the crash site for liquidation.
