In Moscow in 2024, specialists replaced expansion joints on 29 engineering structures. This was reported on December 24 by Deputy Mayor of the capital on housing and public utilities and landscaping Pyotr Biryukov.

According to him, special attention is paid to the maintenance of such objects in a normative condition. Specialists constantly carry out complex works on replacement of expansion joints. In total this year replaced more than 4 thousand p.m., reports the agency of city news "Moscow".

Among the objects - bridges Bolshoy Ustiinsky and Novobrattsevsky, overpass "Volgogradsky. TTC entrance" and overpass Myakinino - Strogino.

Deputy Mayor noted that due to heavy traffic and changing weather conditions metal structures are destroyed, so it is necessary to periodically replace the joints. Otherwise, a small threshold is formed on the roadway, when crossing which the driver feels the impact, notes "Moscow 24".

The official explained that first specialists dismantle the structures of old expansion joints and install new ones. At the final stage of the work are reinforcing and concreting of transition zones, writes the website kp.ru.

In early December, Biryukov said that this year in Moscow specialists have upgraded about 400 ventilation shafts of communication collectors. Modernization of shafts in the Russian capital has been carried out since 2011, IA Regnum specifies.
