Overnight, air defenses hit 59 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions, the Russian Defence Ministry has said. This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry on December 25.

"During the past night on-duty air defense means destroyed 59 Ukrainian drones," - informed the press service in Telegram-channel.

It is specified that 26 drones were shot down over the territory of Belgorod region, 23 - over the territory of Voronezh region, three drones - over the territories of Kursk, Bryansk and Tambov regions, and one - over the waters of the Sea of Azov.

Earlier, on December 24, the Defense Ministry reported about four eliminated Ukrainian UAVs over Russian regions. It is specified that three drones were shot down over the territory of the Rostov region, one - over the Voronezh region.

Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
