Parents of unwanted children staying in Russia will receive the same status


Parents of foreign citizens who have been recognized as undesirable staying on the territory of Russia will receive the same status. This follows on December 24 from the order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, posted on the official Internet portal of legal information.
Papers on the undesirability of stay of parents should be prepared together with the draft decision on the undesirable stay on the territory of Russia of a minor, follows from the document.
Restrictions will apply to persons under the age of 18. The order will come into force on February 5, 2025
The Federation Council at the plenary session on December 20 approved the law prohibiting to accept in Russian schools children of migrants without knowledge of the Russian language.
Earlier, on December 9, it was reported that the Russian Interior Ministry will notify relatives of foreigners in special institutions of their whereabouts before expulsion from the country, and will also notify the diplomatic mission of the state of which he is a citizen.
Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with parliamentary leaders of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states that the migration situation in any country should be comfortable for its residents.
On December 3, Valery Fadeyev, head of the Human Rights Council (HRC), called for toughening migration policy in Russia because the country "does not need kishlaks in cities". In his opinion, foreigners with unique professional skills should be invited to work in Russia even without knowledge of the Russian language. However, he noted that applicants for citizenship should be subjected to maximum requirements - for example, they must join the military register.
