Due to payment problems, about 40% of containers with spare parts now hang up, Evgeny Ufimtsev, head of the All-Russian Union of Insurers and the Russian Union of Auto Insurers, told Izvestia in an interview. He added that the situation is dynamic, it is constantly changing - in one place the problem gets solved, but in another it appears.

"At the same time, difficulties arise with payments when parts are delivered from China, Turkey, UAE and even Kazakhstan. Sometimes they appear even with payment not for cargo, but for transportation. All this can lead to additional delays," Ufimtsev noted.

According to him, sometimes there are situations when four out of five necessary parts have already been delivered, but the repair cannot start precisely because the last one is missing. Sometimes the terms of delivery of spare parts can reach three months. But mostly it concerns electronics, emphasized Ufimtsev.

He explained: before importing into third countries, additional checks are required to see if the goods are on the sanctions list. And now almost all headlights are "smart" - they contain some microchips.

That is why parts suppliers have begun to use a new method of delivery - to split the cargo into different containers for different types of parts. For example, one container contains all rubber parts, another one contains iron parts, and the third one contains glass parts. This helps speed up the delivery of at least some parts, Ufimtsev said.
