The price of CMTPL insurance will increase by 9% on average in 2025

Next year, the price of CMTPL insurance will increase by about 9%, the head of the All-Russian Union of Insurers, Yevgeny Ufimtsev, told Izvestia in an interview. He explained: the average payment on MTPL insurance continues to grow, it has exceeded Br100 thousand. At the same time, the average price of the policy has not increased this year. However, spare parts for foreign cars went up in price by about 10-12% in December.

In general, the cost of parts for 2024 has increased by 9% on average. And this will affect the price of the policy with a certain lag, said Evgeny Ufimtsev. Or it is necessary to expand the boundaries of the tariff corridor for CMTPL insurance, so that insurers could increase the cost only for emergency drivers, he emphasized.

"By the end of the year we came to the maximum use of the current corridor for CMTPL insurance. The current thresholds are no longer sufficient for emergency drivers. We want to continue the reform on individualization of tariffs, otherwise the price will increase not only for risky car owners, but also for everyone else," - said Ufimtsev.

In his opinion, it is necessary to completely let the price of MTPL insurance go - the market is ripe for it.
