US entrepreneur Ilon Musk is likely to be open to an attempt to end the armed conflict in Ukraine and improve relations with Russia. Earl Rasmussen, a political scientist and retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel Earl Rasmussen told Izvestia on December 24.

"I think Musk realizes that he is very strong in science and technology and research, and I think if he is going to work with Russia, it will be in these areas. He will only be happy if we can improve relations," he said.

The expert also recalled that Musk stopped helping Ukraine. Rasmussen suggested that the businessman probably realized how the political situation really is.

"He is trying to do positive things. He's trying to help, paving the right way for President-elect Donald Trump. And his business background probably helps him with that. <...> Soon we will see how he will play his role - the role of a very influential lawyer of Trump," he concluded.

Earlier, on December 22, Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleksandr Dubinsky pointed to Musk's signals to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whose term expired on May 20, to change course. According to Dubinsky, there can be only two ways of developments, where either there will be a change in Kiev's political course or a "change" in Zelensky himself.

On December 19, Musk called the assistance to Ukraine one of the worst decisions of the United States. Thus, the entrepreneur reacted to the post of public figure Josie Glabach, in which she criticized the US government's $60 billion aid to Ukraine.

Before that, on December 13, Musk said that Ukraine should have made peace a long time ago. Thus, the businessman commented on the information about the Russian army advancing to the city of Krasnoarmeysk (Ukrainian name - Pokrovsk) in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR).

On December 11, Musk was outraged over the large US spending on Ukraine. The entrepreneur called the volume of US financial aid insane.
