The other day one of the most spectacular matches of this season took place in the KHL. Dynamo Moscow lost 5:6 to Ak Bars Kazan, although they led 3:0, 4:3 and 5:4. After more than half of the regular season, the White and Blue are in fourth place in the Western Conference. In their next game against Vityaz Moscow Region, they'll have to debut a rookie goalie, Vladislav Podyapolsky, one of the best in his role this season. Thanks to him, his previous club, Lada from Togliatti, still has a chance to make the playoffs despite all the financial constraints.

Meanwhile, Dynamo parted with American goalkeeper Hunter Miska, who was remembered for several curious mistakes at the beginning of the season. And the match with Ak Bars was played entirely by Maxim Motorygin. In an interview with Izvestia, Daniil Pylenkov, the Belo-Blue's defenseman, shared his expectations of the new goalie's imminent debut, talked about how the team's head coach Alexei Kudashov reacted to the loss to Ak Bars, and assessed the club's results this season.

- What do you attribute the almost tennis-like score in the match with Ak Bars?

- Both teams played well, showed good realization of chances. But, unfortunately, we couldn't maintain the advantage we had.

- Many spectators expect such a spectacular game from KHL teams. Will the fact that you will be praised for such a productive game somehow compensate for the negativity from the defeat?

- I don't even know what to say. The coach has already told us everything. We will work and in the next games we will try to concede fewer goals.

- What did the head coach said? Did he scold us for such a game in defense?

- Of course. To concede six goals is unacceptable for us.

- Were you surprised that the score was such a score against Ak Bars, which for many years has accustomed us to a heavy defensive hockey?

- As far as I know, they changed their head coach in the offseason(smiling). Maybe the tactics changed with him. I don't know, I don't follow Ak Bars. I concentrate on my team's game. They let me score - well done, thank them for that.

- How do you evaluate the last season for Dynamo in general?

- We have some swings. We were at the bottom at the beginning of the season, then at the top. Now we are back to what we were at the beginning. But we need to correct it. I hope that in the New Year we will do well.

- What was the reason for that bad start?

- There were a lot of new things in the preseason. For example, we ran on skating. Maybe what we showed in September was connected with it. But that's the past, we are now moving only forward.

- Is there a desire to finish the regular season as high as possible in the West? Or is the main thing to approach the playoffs in the most optimal shape?

- Of course, our goal is to be as high as possible. We're going step by step and we want to finish the regular season in the highest possible place, and then we want to be successful in the playoffs.

- What do you expect from the soon debut of your new goalkeeper Vladislav Podjapolskiy for Dynamo?

- Expectations are really high! I can't wait for him to get on the ice and finally win for Dynamo!

- What do you remember Hunter Miska for?

- Good guy, good goalie. Thanks to him for his work.
