Perovsky district court of Moscow sentenced surgeon Ivan Tishchenko to four years in prison for financing extremist activities. This was reported on December 24 in the Telegram-channel of the capital's courts of general jurisdiction.

"The sentence of the Perovsky district court of Moscow Tishchenko Ivan Sergeevich was found guilty of committing a crime under part 1 of article 282.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation," - noted in the message.

Perovsky district court sentenced the perpetrator to four years in a strict regime colony.

Earlier, on December 17, the religious group "Church of Scientology of St. Petersburg" was recognized as an extremist organization at the request of the prosecutor's office.

It is specified that the activities of the group were aimed at inciting hatred and enmity, humiliation of dignity of people on the basis of belonging to social groups, a call for refusal to comply with public rules and laws. In addition, the participants of the "Church of Scientology" distributed extremist literature.
