In Russia, almost 891 million illegal goods were blocked in 2024

Almost 891 million illegal goods will be blocked at cash registers in 2024. This was told to "Izvestia" by the press service of the Center for Development of Advanced Technologies (CDPT, the state operator of the labeling system "Honest Sign"), commenting on the effect of the introduced permissive regime on different categories of products.
"The permissive regime for a short time has shown itself as an effective tool for controlling the quality of products. As a result, over 351.5 million expired and counterfeit dairy products, over 259 million packages of tobacco products and at least 101.5 million liters of beer were blocked at cash registers," Revaz Yusupov, deputy general director of CRPT, explained to Izvestia.
Also, 28.6 million bottles of water, 22.3 million dietary supplements, 20.7 million light industry goods, and 4.1 million pairs of shoes were blocked at the cash registers. In addition, the system prevented the sale of 669.2 thousand perfumes, almost 396 thousand tires, 355 thousand antiseptics and 6.9 thousand cameras.
Among the main reasons for blocking are expired expiration dates, lack of information in the Honest Mark system about the entry of goods into circulation, repeated sales, and the correctness of the verification code - when goods did not pass the cryptography check, the codes could turn out to be fake or damaged.
In 2025, according to the government decree, the authorization regime will be extended to veterinary drugs, bicycles, red and black caviar, non-alcoholic beer and drinks, juices, technical means of rehabilitation, medical devices and wheelchairs.
The Russian government will gradually introduce a permit regime for different categories of goods from the beginning of April 2024. First of all, the checkout inspection program was introduced for tobacco and tobacco products, beer and low-alcohol beverages in kegs. On May 1, the checks were extended to dairy products and water. From November 1 - on beer and low-alcohol beverages in glass, plastic bottles, aluminum cans and other types of consumer packaging, dietary supplements, antiseptics, perfume, shoes, tires and tires, clothing and cameras.
On December 17, it was reported that for a month almost 19 million illegal light industry goods were blocked at the cash registers of Russian stores thanks to the "Honest Mark" labeling system. The main reason for the blocking of clothing was the lack of information in the "Honest Mark" system about the entry of goods into circulation. Almost 12 million such cases were recorded.
