In Russia, on average, employers began to offer 21% more (87,064 rubles) to applicants for positions in the oil and gas sector than last year. The number of open vacancies increased by 11% year-on-year, according to the research results of the Avito Work platform, which were presented to Izvestia on December 25. Experts singled out the highest-paid professions in the industry for the period from January to November.
The profession of surveyor became the highest paid. Applicants for this position can expect Br188,348 per month in full-time employment. For January - November, the average salary offers increased by 20% compared to the same period of 2023. Surveyors are engaged in controlling the geometry and safety of mining operations, as well as collecting data on the location and condition of hydrocarbon deposits.
In addition, high salary offers are received by candidates for surveyor vacancies - an average of RUB 168,291 per month, which is 12% higher than in 2023. Such specialists are responsible for carrying out geodetic measurements and topographic surveying for the design, construction and operation of facilities.
In third place are drillers with a proposed salary of 157,381 rubles monthly - an increase of 47%. These professionals are engaged in direct drilling of wells for oil and gas production.
"In the study "Avito Rabota" oil and gas industry took the first place among the most prestigious areas of work, according to Russians. More than a third (38%) of 10,000 respondents named this industry as attractive for career development. At the same time, high salaries are by no means its only advantage. Employees of the oil and gas sector can count on additional social guarantees that provide comfort and stability throughout their careers," said Roman Gubanov, Development Director of Avito Rabota.
According to him, in general, among the main advantages of working in industry, Russians emphasize financial stability (45%), standardized working hours (42%), clearly defined responsibilities (35%), as well as bonuses and various benefits for employees (32%).
Earlier, on December 18, it was reported that almost half (47%) of Russians surveyed are considering changing jobs in 2025. Among them, 3% will do it for sure, and 44% are ready to move only if they get a good offer. This is stated in the results of the research of the service "Work.ru".
