The Museum of Modern History opened the famous scientific Christmas tree of the Polytechnic Museum on December 24. The event will be held throughout the New Year vacations.
The tradition to hold it dates back to the century before last. This year the holiday is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory. Children had to take part in a quest with the effect of presence and immersion. According to the plot, they travel back in time and find themselves in the apartment of a Soviet aircraft designer, who is preparing to meet 1945 with his family.
"Our goal is to have more than just an entertaining holiday that would please the whole family. We set ourselves a larger task - we want to involve the younger generation in science, in engineering creativity," shared the head of the Department of Children's Programs and Projects of the Polytechnic Museum.
She added that during the celebration the children study the work of Morse apparatus, wind tunnel device, as well as the flight of airplanes.
In addition, the program of the Christmas tree includes a tour of the museum for parents.
Earlier, on December 20, the head of the capital department of trade and services Alexei Nemeriuk said that in Moscow within the framework of the project "Winter in Moscow" began to work New Year's markets. In total, the capital provides 270 sites where citizens can buy the main symbol of the New Year. The assortment includes domestic fir trees from the Perm Territory, Kirov Region and the Republic of Bashkiria, imported fir trees, pine trees and lapnik.
