A case has been opened against a mercenary from Norway for crimes in the Kursk region

The Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia has opened a criminal case against a mercenary from Norway, Aslan Ocherkhadzhiev, for committing crimes in Kursk region. This was reported on December 24 on the website of the agency.

Ocherkhadzhiev is suspected in absentia of committing crimes under paras. "a", "c" part 2 of Article 205, part 3 of Article 359 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Committing a terrorist act", "Participation of a mercenary in an armed conflict").

According to the investigation, the Norwegian mercenary is directly involved in hostilities on the side of the armed formations of Ukraine. He illegally crossed the Russian border and invaded the territory of the Kursk region in August 2024.

"After the invasion, they (Ocherkhadzhiev and accomplices. - Ed.), pursuing the goal of intimidation of the population, caused significant material damage and destabilization of the activities of the authorities, achieved terrorism against the world population", - stated in the message of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

It is noted that the investigation is taking measures to establish the whereabouts of the figure and his accomplices.

Earlier, December 20, it was reported that the IC RF opened a criminal case against a citizen of Denmark Annabel Jorgensen. According to the investigation, she is directly involved in hostilities on the side of the armed formations of Ukraine. It was specified that the woman illegally crossed the Russian border and entered the territory of the Kursk region.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by the Russian Federation on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
