Auto brand SWM promised to update its model range in Russia

Next year in Russia it is planned to expand the model range of the SWM automobile brand, as well as to update the crossovers already on the market. This is stated in the message of the brand representatives, which was received by Izvestia on December 24.

Thus, the certification of the new SWM G03F crossover is being finalized now. It is expected that sales will begin in May-June 2025. At the same time, the process of formation of configurations for the Russian market is being finalized. Initially, the model was planned to enter the market in late summer 2024, but later the debut was postponed to the fall, but it did not take place.

In the summer of 2025 it is planned to start sales of a mid-size crossover G01F with an updated interior, versions with a more powerful and dynamic engine will enter the market.

The company is also considering the creation of facilities for full-cycle production with welding and body painting of up to 40 thousand cars per year at Avtotor in Kaliningrad. Now SWM dealer network includes more than 70 companies in Russia, the geography of the brand presence is planned to develop.

Italian-Chinese brand SWM announced its entry into the Russian market in spring 2024. The model range includes crossovers SWM G01, G01F, G05 Pro, they are equipped with 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engines with an output of 139 hp (212 Nm). The engine is paired with a preselective seven-speed robotized transmission, front-wheel drive only. The SWM brand was created in Italy in 1971, in 2014, its owner became the Chinese corporation Shineray Group.

December 24, it was reported that the Kaluga plant "Automobile Technologies" (former PSMA Rus) in 2025 plans to produce about 50 thousand cars from car parts of the Chinese concern Great Wall Motor. The plant may start assembling several models from the Haval lineup, including those that are not represented on the Russian market.
