Emergencies Ministry's pyrotechnicians neutralized 5,000 munitions on 300 hectares of terrain in the DNR and LNR.

Pyrotechnic detachments of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for eight months of 2024 surveyed over 300 hectares of terrain on the territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics, where they found and neutralized about 5 thousand munitions. This was reported by the head of the agency Alexander Kurenkov on December 24.

"From April to November this year, combined pyrotechnic squads of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the territories of the DNR and LNR surveyed and cleared of explosive objects over 300 hectares. At the same time, almost 5,000 explosive objects were found and neutralized," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The head of the agency added that specialists also carried out demining work in Kursk, Belgorod and Bryansk regions.

In early July, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that the department's pyrotechnicians neutralized almost 44 thousand explosive objects in the country for six months. Every day, employees of pyrotechnic engineering units survey areas where unexploded ordnance may be located.
