Former Deputy Head of the Migration Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow Dmitry Takhtaulov was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison for organizing illegal migration. This is reported on Tuesday, December 24, in the Telegram-channel of the capital's courts of general jurisdiction.

In this case, Basmanny court also sentenced the former head of the same department Vyacheslav Fokin and two entrepreneurs - Andrei Shkolnikov and Vitaly Abramov. All four were found guilty under par. "a", "c", part 2, article 322.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Organization of illegal migration").

Takhtaulov and Fokin were sentenced to 6.5 years of imprisonment in a penal colony of general regime. At the same time, both were deprived of the rank of "colonel of police".

In turn, Shkolnikov and Abramov were sentenced to 6 years' imprisonment in a general regime colony.

Takhtaulov, Fokin, Shkolnikov and Abramov were detained in November 2022. At the same time they were charged.

The investigation found that in 2021, the police received from the company controlled by Shkolnikov and Abramov false applications for permission for the arrival of foreigners in the country. On this basis, Fokin and Takhtaulov issued invitations to enter the country. During the searches, money and documents confirming the illegal activities were seized from the defendants.
