Eremin, a military correspondent of Izvestia, was awarded the prize "We are near. Good deed" posthumously

Semyon Eremin, a military correspondent of Izvestiya, who died in the special operation zone during a Ukrainian drone attack, was posthumously awarded on December 24 with the Moscow Region Governor's award "We are near. Good deed."

At the award ceremony in Krasnogorsk near Moscow the journalist was represented by his widow Victoria. Her appearance on the stage was met with applause.

"My husband was on the front line. And died doing his duty. And I consider it my duty to preserve the memory of him, to preserve his thoughts, to preserve his ideas so that people could be guided by the truth, by the truth, not by the enemy's fakes," she said.

Victoria also noted that the information war is an integral part of the conflict in Ukraine.

The host of the ceremony reminded that Yeremin had been working in the special operation zone since 2022 and had risked his life more than once while performing his professional duty. She thanked the widow of the journalist for his work.

The annual award "We are near. Good deed" is aimed at supporting the participants of SWO and their families, creators of means of solving combat tasks, strengthening the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Russia, as well as socially significant initiatives and projects for the development of the Moscow region. It is awarded in the nominations "Good Deed" and "Good Deed. People's MIC". About 1.5 thousand applications. received the organizers of the prize in 2024.

Semyon Eremin died on April 19 while shooting a report in the special operation zone during an attack by a Ukrainian FPV drone. The journalist was 42 years old.

On April 23, a farewell ceremony for Yeremin was held in Moscow. Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded him the Order of Courage posthumously.

Eremin worked in the special operation zone since its beginning in February 2022. As a member of the film crew, he was one of the first to report from Volnovakha in March 2022, when Russian troops took down the Ukrainian flag at the entrance to the town. In addition, the journalist was among the first to report on the Lancet and Solntsepek.

On September 14, a mural in honor of Eremin was unveiled in Balashikha, and in early October, the rock band Mordor dedicated a song to the war correspondent.
