Turkish citizen Alihan Kelesh, who is accused of murder of two people in his home country, as well as other crimes, has been extradited from Russia. This was announced by the official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry Irina Volk.

Prior to that, Alikhan Kelesh was wanted through Interpol channels. He was accused of premeditated murder, attempted murder, as well as forgery of official documents and illegal carrying of weapons.

According to Turkish law enforcers, the attacker and his brother in 2020 decided to kill a man who was allegedly involved in the death of their father. The brothers, along with one accomplice, opened fire on the man and other people who happened to be nearby. As a result, two people were killed and another was injured.

After that, the attacker managed to flee abroad. In 2023, he was put on an international wanted list, and in November he was detained by Russian law enforcement officers in Sochi. In July 2024, the Russian side granted the request for extradition of the man.

The decision of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation on the extradition of Kelesh came into force, in connection with which the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Russian Federation in cooperation with the NCB Interpol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation was instructed to carry out his transfer to Turkey.

Earlier, on December 20, the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Russian Federation in cooperation with the NCB Interpol extradited from Montenegro to Russia the citizen of the Russian Federation Stanislav Rubtsov, who is accused of large-scale fraud for the amount of more than 10 million rubles.
