More than half of the surveyed Russians increased their income in 2024

The majority of surveyed Russians (59%) were able to increase their income in 2024. This is stated in the results of a survey of financial marketplace "Vyberu.ru", which were presented to "Izvestia" on December 25. At the end of 2023, 85% of respondents intended to improve their financial situation next year.
The experts found out that 16% of respondents increased their salaries by changing the sphere of activity, which was much lower than the 35% reported last year. Additional part-time work was taken up by 31% of Russians, which almost coincided with expectations (33%). The main obstacles to the realization of their plans were lack of time, physical and emotional fatigue.
At the same time, only 8% of respondents have changed their job to a similar one with higher pay, against the planned 11%. Education and advanced training as a way of career growth was chosen by 4% of Russians, which is close to the predicted 6%. However, not everyone managed to complete their studies on time.
Approximately 41% of survey participants reported that they had not made any changes in their labor activity. This is due to both satisfaction with the current level of income and fears of instability in the labor market. In addition, respondents said they have learned to control their spending by reallocating spending and choosing smarter approaches to financial management, which has reduced the urgent need to earn more.
"Despite ambitious plans, a significant proportion of citizens faced realities that affected their financial decisions: the difficulties of finding suitable jobs and the desire to maintain stability. Nevertheless, two-thirds of respondents achieved their goals, which demonstrates a high adaptability to economic challenges. The development of online professions and flexible forms of employment continues to open prospects for those who seek professional growth, regardless of the region of residence," - said the Director of Communications Policy Department of financial marketplace "Vyberu.ru" Anna Romanenko.
Earlier, on December 24, it was reported that in Russia 29% of respondents called the main successful event over the past year increase in salary. This is stated in the results of a survey of analysts of the platform hh.ru. In second place among the successes was a new job (28%). Every fourth respondent (25%) managed to go on vacation and have a good rest.
