The FAS reported on control of the situation with fuel pricing in Russia

The situation with fuel pricing is under control of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) and other agencies. This was reported in the press service of the antimonopoly body on December 24.

"The service analyzes prices at 12 thousand filling stations in the Russian Federation, which includes both filling stations of vertically integrated companies and independent ones. Currently, the change in prices for gasoline and diesel fuel does not exceed the inflation rate," - explained in the FAS.

They specified that in the wholesale segment from November 15, 2024 to December 23, 2024 the price of AI-92 gasoline decreased by 21.2% (from 61,966 rubles per 1 ton to 51,135 rubles per 1 ton), for AI-95 - fell by 18.8% (from 64,500 rubles per 1 ton to 54,315 rubles per 1 ton). At the same time, the cost of winter diesel fuel decreased by 6.3% (from Br78.603 per 1 ton to Br73.930 per 1 ton) from November 26, 2024 to December 23, 2024.

The service specified that the territorial bodies are considering 11 antimonopoly cases, initiated on the grounds of illegal increase in the cost of gasoline and diesel by vertically integrated and independent companies. Over the last two years, 30 antimonopoly cases were initiated in the fuel market.

At the same time, to level the volatility of fuel prices, FAS proposed to fine-tune the damper mechanism. According to the agency, it is necessary to calculate the damper separately for AI-92 and AI-95. The Service considered it necessary to determine and fix the maximum indicative wholesale price of AI-95 motor gasoline to calculate the damper by analogy with AI-92.

Earlier, on September 28, the technical director of the international franchise network of car services FIT SERVICE Nikita Rodionov told "Izvestia" what to do if instead of gasoline in the tank poured diesel. According to him, if a person realized that he made a mistake, immediately, while still in the process of refueling, he should not start the car at all. In such a case, it is necessary to call a tow truck and go to a service station to flush the fuel system.
