Scholz declared "tough times" in his Christmas greeting


German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said in his Christmas greeting that now "harsh times" have come for the FRG. He published the corresponding post on December 24 on his page in the social network X (former Twitter).
"Times are bloody tough, we feel it right now. But we are a strong society with a common future," RIA Novosti quoted Scholz as saying.
Chancellor of Germany also thanked those who on Christmas Eve work for the benefit of society, in particular, medical workers and police officers, adds "Gazeta.Ru".
December 20, at the fair in Magdeburg, a car crashed into a crowd of people. In addition to the five dead, more than 200 people were injured, the condition of many is assessed as extremely serious. The authorities consider what happened a terrorist attack.
Soon a suspect was detained - a native of Saudi Arabia. He explained his actions by the poor treatment of refugees from his country by the German authorities.
Scholz visited the site of the tragedy on December 21 and stated the importance of investigating the terrorist attack, as well as preserving the unity of the nation in a difficult period. At the same time, he and Interior Minister Nancy Feather were booed in Magdeburg. In a conversation with Izvestia, residents of the city criticized the policies of Scholz and the country's government, while the Alternative for Germany (AdG) party called for an urgent meeting of the Bundestag in connection with the incident in the city.
