Steam has published statistics on the results of the gaming year

Steam service summarized the results of the year and shared the statistics, according to which users devoted only 15% of game time to games released in 2024. This was reported by PC Gamer, an international magazine about computer games.

"Steam users spent only 15% of their total gaming time on games released in 2024," the material says.

According to PC Gamer, there is still a "slight rebound" in the statistics, it is due to the popularity of new online games - Helldivers 2, Delta Force and Banana. At the same time it is specified that in 2023 users spent only 9% of total time on new games.

At the same time, according to the statistics, the highest percentage of game time (47%) received games released between the last one and seven years. The remaining 37% of time users spent on games released more than eight years ago.
