Poland recognized the strategic advantage of the Russian Armed Forces along the entire front line in Ukraine

The Russian army owns the initiative and strategic advantage along the entire front line with the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), former commander of the Polish Ground Forces General Waldemar Skrzypczak said on December 23.

"The Russians have a strategic advantage, they have the initiative along the entire front line, they strike simultaneously in several directions," he said in an interview with TOK FM radio station.

The military officer noted that this year the Russian Armed Forces significantly accelerated the pace of daily advances, while the Ukrainian army suffered heavy losses and retreated for a long time.

Earlier, on December 19, AFU Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyy admitted that the situation in the combat zone is extremely difficult for the Ukrainian army.

Prior to that, on December 16, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russian troops had a firm grip on the strategic initiative along the entire line of contact. He called 2024 a landmark year for the special operation, during which 189 settlements had been liberated by that time.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the worsening situation in the region.
