In Moldova, an illegal channel for transporting evaders from Ukraine was liquidated

An illegal channel for sending evaders from Ukraine across the border has been liquidated in Moldova. This was reported in the press service of the border police of Moldova on December 24.
"A new network of illegal migration of men from Ukraine operated on the border between Oknitsky (Moldova) and Mogilev-Podolsky (Ukraine) districts. Ukrainian citizens fleeing the draft were helped to illegally cross the Moldovan-Ukrainian border and then legalize in the country," - noted in Telegram-channel.
It is noted that two suspects were detained, who with accomplices from the territory of Ukraine were engaged in the transfer of citizens to Moldova. For their services, the suspects received from each conscript $6.5 thousand.
The organizers of the illegal crossing were detained for 30 days to determine the punishment.
Also during searches in their homes, money and communication devices were found.
Earlier, on 14 November, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) detained 10 people, including a city council deputy and the head of a department of the district military commission, who organized schemes to evade mobilization and illegal departure abroad of evaders from military service. According to the report, the detainees paid bribes ranging from $3,000 to $20,000 to help men evade conscription with the help of forged documents.
In September, Ukraine detained eight men fleeing mobilization who tried to illegally cross the border with Moldova, as well as their 16-year-old guide. They were reportedly accompanied by a 16-year-old teenager. He offered his services for $7-10 thousand in a Telegram channel, so he managed to gather a group of those wishing to escape mobilization in Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (term of office expired on May 20) signed the law on toughening mobilization on April 16. The document lists the categories of citizens who are subject to conscription. In addition, it toughens penalties for evading service in the AFU, but there are no provisions on demobilization.
Martial law in Ukraine has been in effect since February 2022. Later, the Verkhovna Rada repeatedly extended it. Most men aged between 18 and 60 are banned from leaving the country.
