GOST for shawarma will come into effect in Russia from 2025

In Russia, GOST for shawarma will be finally approved and will come into force in 2025. This was announced by the head of Roskachevo Maxim Protasov on December 24.

"Just the day before the first edition of the standard was finalized, then it will be published for discussion. We assume that its final approval will take place in 2025, then it will come into force," he specified in conversation with TASS.

The agency's interlocutor added that the agency is planning a repeat study of the dish. During its study in April this year, Roskachestvo detected dangerous bacteria, and violations of sanitary and epidemiological norms in terms of microbiology were found in 27 out of 29 samples. The latter category will be kept under control by the organization, Protasov pointed out.

In addition, the country is expected to have a GOST on the principles of food safety in catering, added "Gazeta.Ru".

Earlier, on November 14, it was reported that Roskachestvo began inspections of certification centers that confirm the quality and safety of consumer goods in the Russian Federation. It was specified that in case of detection of fake certificates, information about it may be sent to the investigative authorities and Rosakkreditation.
