Russian cosmonauts on the ISS will celebrate New Year with olivier


Russian cosmonauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS) announced on December 24 their plans to prepare an olivier salad for the New Year. They emphasized that this dish is an integral part of the holiday table.
"Before the New Year a truck ("Progress MS-29". - Ed.) came, brought us gifts from our families, we will also put them on our New Year's table for sure," - "RIA Novosti" quotes cosmonaut Alexey Ovchinin as saying.
In addition, the main Santa Claus of Moscow and Snegurochka congratulated the cosmonauts on the coming New Year via video link from the Mission Control Center (MCC).
It is specified that Ovchinin and Ivan Wagner arrived at the ISS on September 11 this year on the Soyuz MS-26 spacecraft together with American astronaut Donald Pettit. Russian cosmonaut Alexander Gorbunov reached the station on the American Crew Dragon as part of the Crew-9 mission along with American Nick Hague on September 30.
Earlier, on December 19, it was reported that Ovchinin and Wagner went into outer space from the ISS for the second time in 2024. The main tasks are to install and remove scientific equipment on the outer surface of the Russian segment modules "Zvezda", "Search" and "Nauka".
