Republika Srpska head says Scholz attempts to assemble anti-Russian front

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock were assembling an anti-Russian front in the European Union under pressure from the administration of US President Joe Biden, and now have to establish relations with the team of his successor Donald Trump. Milorad Dodik, president of the Republika Srpska within Bosnia and Herzegovina, said on December 23.
"We had a deliberately losing political option of Scholz and Berbok, who traveled around the EU, creating an anti-Russian front, creating problems for themselves. Look where the world's fourth largest economy is now from the days of [former German Chancellor Angela] Merkel. So those policies were wrong. They failed to withstand the pressure of the Biden administration," he said in an interview with Politika.
According to Dodik, one can now see the epilogue of these events in the form of a Europe with many problems and the dilemma of how to establish relations with the future administration of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump.
The head of the republic also noted that Russia legally defended its interests in Ukraine and the interests of 15 million Russians living in the regions of Donbass and Novorossiya.
Dodik recalled the expansion of NATO, despite the warning of Russian leader Vladimir Putin, and the violation of the Minsk agreements by Western countries. He pointed out that the liberal West has devoted its potential to creating problems for others and can now hardly expect to be trusted.
Earlier, on December 2, Scholz expressed support for Kiev in a message to Putin during his visit to Ukraine. He also said that assistance to the Ukrainian people from his side would be provided "as long as necessary." On the same day, the FRG chancellor announced the allocation of €650m worth of arms to Ukraine.
In response, the Kremlin's official representative, Dmitriy Peskov, said that European leaders intended to continue their destructive line to escalate the Ukrainian conflict. He drew attention to the fact that such statements are made in the West.
Western countries have increased military and financial support for Kiev against the background of the special operation of the Russian Federation to protect Donbass, the launch of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, after the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
