Ussuriysk company will pay 2 million rubles for the death of a worker

A court in Ussuriysk awarded a construction company to pay compensation for moral damages to the family of a worker who died at the site. Thus, the claim of the prosecutor's office was satisfied.

PrimaMedia news agency with reference to the regional prosecutor's office reports that the tragedy occurred in March 2024. A 66-year-old man fell into the elevator shaft from the height of the sixth floor. He was not provided with personal protective equipment and safety systems.

The deceased man was left with two children, one of them is disabled group 1. The man's spouse is also disabled. The prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit against the construction company LLC "Leader" demanding compensation for moral damages in favor of the family of the deceased.

The court satisfied the claims of the supervisory agency and recovered funds totaling 2.2 million rubles from the company. At the same time, a criminal case was opened against the head of the company's site under the article "Violation of safety rules resulting in the death of a worker".

In mid-October it was reported that the court of the town of Kimry in the Tver region considered the claim of the family of the deceased worker. His relatives demanded compensation for moral damage caused by the accident. The court decided to award the family a payment of 5 million rubles.
