The Belarusian authorities have extended until the end of 2025 the ban on the import and sale of Skoda cars and other products of companies of several countries, which imposed sanctions on legal entities and individuals of the republic. The government decree was published on December 24 on the national legal Internet portal.

"To extend the effect of paragraphs 2 and 4 of the Decree № 240 of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus of April 23, 2021 until December 31, 2025 inclusive," reads the document.

Resolution № 240 was adopted "to ensure the protection of national interests, taking into account the unfriendly actions against the Belarusian people." The list of banned goods includes products of the group of companies Liqui Moly, Škoda Auto and Beiersdorf (owns the trademarks Nivea, Labello, Hansaplast and others).

In 2021, Skoda and Nivea refused to sponsor the 2021 Ice Hockey World Championship if it was held in Belarus. Skoda has been a sponsor of these competitions for the past 28 years, and Nivea Men - more than 10 years.

The day before it was reported that the company "AGR" announced a recall of almost 56 thousand cars brands Volkswagen and Skoda in Russia. The service campaign started on December 15.
