Infants massively poisoned at a matinee in Yekaterinburg

In Ekaterinburg there was a mass poisoning of infants after a New Year's matinee. This was reported on December 24 by Rospotrebnadzor in the Sverdlovsk region.

It is specified that the incident occurred on December 20 at the event, where 24 children and 27 adults were present.

"Food for the celebration was ordered in the delivery service, and animators were invited for entertainment," - indicated in the Telegram-channel of the department.

Within two days of the celebration, nine infants were hospitalized with symptoms of acute intestinal distress. In the hospital they were diagnosed with "norovirus infection of the second type".

In addition, it was determined that a mother and child who showed signs of illness the day before the event were at the matinee. The baby was also confirmed to have type 2 norovirus infection.

According to Rospotrebnadzor, the epidemiological investigation continues, the situation is under control.

Earlier, on November 15, it became known that schoolchildren in the city of Novocheboksarsk in Chuvashia massively poisoned after lunch in the school canteen. The first complaints of ill health appeared among the children in the evening of November 14, 20 people sought medical help. Within a day, the number of victims increased to 163 people. Presumably, the cause of poisoning was products with expired shelf life. A criminal case has been initiated on the fact of the emergency.
