Rescuers and volunteers have collected more than 21 thousand tons of fuel oil-contaminated soil on the coast of Kuban and Crimea after the incident with tankers. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation on December 24.
According to the agency, more than 24 thousand square meters of water area was cleaned in the Krasnodar region. Specialists collected 25 tons of oily liquid and installed 200 m of booms.
"In the port of Anapa collected more than 14 thousand tons of oily liquid; primary cleaned almost 4 800 squares of the coast," - stated in the Telegram-channel of the Department.
In addition, in Crimea surveyed 349 kilometers of coastline, identified 20 oil slicks and identified six sites for work. Cleaned 14.4 km of coastline, as well as collected and removed more than 109 tons of contaminated sand and soil.
In the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation noted that for the elimination of slicks in the waters of the Kerch Strait was involved three vessels, including a boat. In special work involved more than 9.5 thousand people and 437 pieces of equipment.
Earlier, December 22, it became known that after the accident with tankers in the Krasnodar Territory, more than 39.7 km of coastline was cleared of oil products. In the port of Anapa conducted additional cleaning of 500 square meters of water area. In turn, 60.3 tons of contaminated sand and soil were collected in Crimea and 50.6 tons were removed.
A day later, on December 23, in Kerch after the accident with tankers in the Black Sea introduced a state of emergency of a municipal nature. It was specified that fuel oil reached the shores of the Kerch peninsula - Cape Snake and fortress Yeni-Kale. At the same time it became known that 54 km of the Black Sea coastline in the Krasnodar region should be cleaned from fuel oil pollution.
Tankers Volgoneft-212 andVolgoneft-239crashed in the Kerch Strait on December 15 due to bad weather. As a result of the incident there was a spill of oil products. 27 people were evacuated from both vessels. It was specified that one person died.
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, on the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, created a working group to coordinate work to eliminate the consequences of the accident with tankers in the Kerch Strait.
