Case opened after dogs attack on pensioner in Khabarovsk region

A criminal case has been opened in Vaninsky District of Khabarovsk Territory after the body of a 68-year-old woman with animal bite marks was found in the Oktyabrsky settlement. The body with bite marks was discovered by local residents in the early morning. The cause of death is being established. The situation was taken under personal control by the head of the district Sergei Nagornyak. He urged residents not to trust unverified information and to check its sources.
According to one of the local residents, cited by IA AmurMedia, the problem of stray dogs in Oktyabrsky settlement is very acute. Dogs are only getting bigger. The man did not rule out that the administration does not solve this issue in any way.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, among other things, is considering the version that the attack on the pensioner involved domestic dogs, which are on the so-called free walk. The alleged owner of the animals has been identified. An expert examination has been appointed.
The head of the district asked local residents not to feed the animals, as they start to consider the place of feeding as their territory, protect it and attack in case of a threat of its violation.
In late November it was reported that in Gatchina district of the Leningrad region, a 77-year-old woman died after she was attacked by a dog. The dog chewed to death his mistress on the homestead plot. Investigators found that the woman had repeatedly raised her hand against the animal.
