The VII International Ice Sculpture Contest was launched in Birobidzhan

The marathon of New Year's fir trees ended on Lenin Square in Birobidzhan. Last week in all districts of the autonomy they were lit on Christmas trees. All the ceremonies were accompanied by festivities: guests led round dances and participated in contests.

In Birobidzhan, the main city square also hosted a celebration, which was attended by representatives of the regional administration. During the ceremony, the VII International Ice Sculpture Contest "Crystal Menorah" was launched.

This year 23 teams from different regions of the Far East and Chinese twin cities of Tongjiang and Hegan will show their skills. They will create sculptures for three days. This year ice figures will decorate the embankment of the Bira River, the square near the City Palace of Culture and the Friendship Square, writes EAOMedia IA.

Earlier it was reported that in Kirovsk (Murmansk region) are preparing to open two popular entertainment facilities, "Mysterious Forest" and "Snow Village". The "Mysterious Forest" art park is an art project in the natural landscape of the Khibiny Mountains, created with the help of colored garlands on trees, snow and ice. "Snow Village" is an excursion center, a large indoor snow structure with an area of more than 2 thousand square meters, consisting of more than 20 snow halls filled with snow expositions and ice sculptures.
