An explosion at a factory in Turkey kills 12 people


An explosion at the explosives factory in the Turkish town of Balikesir killed 12 people, three were injured. This was reported by the governor of the city Ismail Ustaoglu on December 24.
"Balıkesir Governor Ismail Ustaoglu said that, according to preliminary data, 12 people were killed and three people were injured in an explosion that occurred at an explosives factory in the Karesi district," he was quoted by the news channel CNN Türk.
It was also reported that a large number of fire engines were sent to the scene of the explosion to extinguish the fire.
Earlier, on November 25, in the Turkish city of Aliaga in western Turkey, there was an explosion at the oil refinery of the company Tupras. After the explosion, a fire broke out at the facility. There were no casualties as a result of the incident. This was the second explosion at the Tupas facility in a month, before the same incident occurred on November 5 at the Izmit refinery.
