About 3 million people visited the Northern and Southern river stations this year, said Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry Maxim Liksutov.

"More than 800 events were held here. The piers of the stations received and dispatched cruise ships more than 2.1 thousand times. Next year we will continue to develop the potential of railway stations on the instructions of Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin", - said Liksutov.

He reminded that after a large-scale restoration four years ago the Northern River Station regained the title of one of the most important transportation facilities of the city. In 2023, the restoration work was completed at the Southern River Station: here they laid engineering networks, landscaped the embankment, equipped a recreation area. This year more than 400 different events, including concerts and festivals, were held on its territory.

In November, the Mayor of Moscow called the Northern and Southern River Stations "symbols of the Moscow River revival". After restoration work and reconstruction, these stations "have once again become real river gates of the capital", Sobyanin emphasized.

In 2023, the world's first year-round regular routes of river electric transport - "Kievsky - Heart of the Capital" and "ZIL - Pechatniki" - were launched. This year the first line was extended to the "Park Fili" pier and received a new name "Kievsky - Park Fili". In 2024, six new berths were opened on the two routes.

During the summer navigation season, cruise ships traveled from river stations to 50 Russian cities.
