One person killed and five injured in boat explosion in Florida harbor

One person was killed, five were injured in a boat explosion in the port of Fort Lauderdale in the US state of Florida. This was reported on December 24 by TV channel FOX 13, citing a statement from the fire department.

"According to the Fort Lauderdale Fire Department (FLFR), an explosion and fire aboard a vessel in the Lauderdale Marina on Monday evening left one person dead and five injured," the statement said.

The injured were hospitalized. Search operations were organized, the deceased was found in the water by divers. The fire, which provoked the explosion, was extinguished.

At the moment the investigation into the causes of the explosion is underway.

Earlier, on December 23, three people were injured in an explosion at a military base in South Korea. Local media reported that the cause of the incident could have been a pipe rupture due to problems with a pressure device.
