Antonina Starodubova, chief nutritionist of the Moscow Department of Health, has warned about the danger of overeating during the New Year feast.

In a conversation with "RIA Novosti" on Tuesday, December 24, the expert noted that even a single overeating at the New Year's table can lead to poor health, acute violation of the function of the GI organs and to the exacerbation of chronic diseases. In this case, one should seek medical help and not self-medicate. The doctor explained that the traditional table can be too abundant with salty, fatty and sweet dishes, and even in large quantities.

Completely refuse festive treats should not be, but should be observed in moderation, reports "Gazeta.Ru". As emphasized Starodubova, there are no absolutely useful or harmful products and dishes. However, there are groups of products that should be present in the daily diet, and there are those that can be eaten only occasionally and in small quantities.

On December 23, gastroenterologist and nutritionist Nuria Dianova told how to avoid overeating on New Year's Eve. According to her, you should take food "in two approaches", so as not to overload the body with high-calorie food. Around 21:00 you can eat some salads, and then take a break and sit down at the table again not before midnight. At the same time as the main course you can choose something lighter: chicken, fish, seafood or duck combined with vegetables, writes NSN.

On the same day, expert Ksenia Zabaturina warned that during the holidays with an abundance of dishes and low activity there is a risk of overeating. First of all, she advised not to starve before the New Year's feast. According to her, it is better to replace fatty ingredients in dishes with lighter alternatives, such as classic mayonnaise with Greek yogurt or sour cream. Sweet sodas are better replaced with mineral water. Also in the days of January vacation should increase physical activity, for example, more often walk in nature, RT writes.

At the same time, the study "Package" from X5 showed that Russians who choose independent cooking are convinced that home-cooked meals are tastier, and also point out the importance of observing family traditions. According to the analysts' study, among the classic New Year's Eve treats that Russians usually prepare on their own, the first place is occupied by Olivier salad (92%), followed by herring under a fur coat (69%) and various meat and fish dishes (71%).

December 21, endocrinologist and nutritionist Anna Goncharova advised to drink a quarter glass of water with a few drops of lemon in the morning before the feast. This drink will activate digestion and prepare the body for the meal. On a plate, she said, you should try to put small portions of different dishes, so that the total amount eaten does not exceed 1.5-2 cups. This will avoid overloading the gastrointestinal tract and reduce the load on the heart, reports Pravda.Ru.

December 10, endocrinologist, nutritionist Elena Churakina advised to make a balanced New Year's menu to avoid overeating. According to her, you can choose baked or grilled chicken or beef for a hot meal. You can complement them with a side dish of complex carbohydrates, which will take longer to digest. Mayonnaise can be replaced by yogurt sauces with garlic and spices, do not forget about fresh vegetables and herbs, reports 360.ru.

December 8, nutriciologist Maria Sirosh urged to observe the balance of fatty and healthy dishes. Alcohol should be drunk with water to control the process of intoxication, said the expert. At the same time, it is better to refuse strong drinks, tinctures and beer, limiting yourself to sparkling wine or light ciders, notes Life.ru.

Earlier in Russia launched a platform to popularize healthy eating among children. The authors of the project in a game format will help the younger generation to make their choice and understand that proper nutrition is what shapes the present and the future, writes IA Regnum.
