French politician and leader of the Patriots party Florian Philippot on December 23 called the composition of the Cabinet "hundreds of times seen" under French President Emmanuel Macron and former President Francois Hollande a disgrace.

"All these old donkeys, already seen a hundred times under Hollande, under Macron, are only good at being subordinate to Brussels! What a disgrace!" - he wrote on the X network (formerly Twitter).

Filippo also called on opposition parties National Rally and Unruly France to declare a vote of no confidence in the French government on the same day the National Assembly resumes its sessions.

On that day, Macron approved a new French government, with Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot and Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu retaining their posts. According to the TV channel BFMTV, it was also decided to retain the Interior Ministry for Bruno Retaillot.

The National Assembly (lower house of parliament) of France on December 4 passed a resolution of no confidence in the government of Prime Minister Michel Barnier. 331 deputies voted in favor of the vote of no confidence. Later, on December 13, 73-year-old leader of the centrist party "Democratic Movement" Francois Bayrou was appointed the new Prime Minister of France.

In turn, Macron, during an address to the nation, said that he was not going to leave the presidency until the end of his term in 2027. He also reminded that he will not be able to run for re-election.

The founder of the party "Unconquered France" Jean-Luc Melanchon at the same time said that Macron does not understand how the parliament works. In his opinion, the French president should resign so that the people could go to the presidential election.
