A new ferry route was launched between the Leningrad and Kaliningrad regions

In the Kaliningrad region in the new port Pionersky launched a regular ferry "Antey", which will run continuously to the Leningrad region. About it on Monday, December 23, reports "Interfax" with reference to the general agent of the line.

"The new port in Pionersky has started regular reception of vessels. The first was the ferry "Antey", which last day moored at berth No. 1," said a representative of the line's general agent Trans-Business Consulting LLC.

The first terminal of the new port was put into operation at the end of August. At the moment the fencing mole, passenger terminal and other buildings and structures are under construction in the port complex.

According to "Gazeta.Ru", the operator of the marine terminal is FSUE "Rosmorport".

Earlier, on July 14, Governor of the Kaliningrad Region Anton Alikhanov said that the region plans to develop ferry transportation infrastructure.

Prior to that, on June 22, the newspaper Delovoy Peterburg reported that the earlier ban on cargo transit to the Kaliningrad region from Lithuania will be compensated through the exclave's sea communication with St. Petersburg. At that time, it was noted that container ships departed from the port of Bronka.
