WBC suspends Usik and Fury from boxing for 36 days on medical grounds


The management of the World Boxing Council (WBC) has suspended Ukrainian Oleksandr Usik and British Tyson Fury from bouts after the rematch for 36 days on medical grounds. About it on December 23 reports Bloody Elbow.
The decision was taken to avoid possible health problems of athletes after their fight.
Earlier in Saudi Arabia in the city of Riyadh in the night from 21 to 22 December held a fight between boxers, which lasted 12 rounds. In it, Usik defeated Fury, defending three world titles among professional boxers in the heavyweight division. At the end of the confrontation Usik became the winner by unanimous decision of the judges - 116-112.
Earlier, on May 19, Usik won the title of absolute world champion in heavyweight, defeating Fury. The fight lasted all 12 rounds of three minutes each. At the end of the ninth Usik managed to send the Briton into a knockdown. For 35-year-old Fury, the defeat in this fight was the first in his career.
