The division in the American society will intensify if President-elect Donald Trump decides to recognize only two genders. This opinion was expressed by American political scientist Malek Dudakov on Monday, December 23.

On the eve of Trump promised during a speech at the Turning Point USA conference to approve in the country only two genders - male and female, reports 360.ru.

According to Dudakov, in terms of public rhetoric, this would mean a serious departure from the policy pursued during the era of the administration of current US President Joe Biden, which maximizes support for gender diversity. He admitted that Trump will also try to dramatically change the effect of US statutes that prohibit discrimination against transgender people (the LGBT movement is recognized as extremist in Russia) in the workplace.

The political analyst emphasized that transgender people will be banned from serving in the US Armed Forces (AF), which was already the case in Trump's first term.

At the same time, the political scientist noted that American states have a lot of authority and opportunities to continue to implement transgender policy regardless of what is imposed on them from the federal center. He suggested that Democratic states will continue to allow transgender people into women's restrooms, place them in women's prisons, and so on.

He noted, however, that the White House has some leverage.

"In particular, for example, they can cut off federal grants to those schools and universities that allow transgender people to go into women's restrooms and so forth, but far from every school, I think that would apply. So what we're going to see here, in general, is a further intensification of the U.S. divide over this transgender story," the Americanist said.

The main serious consequences will be felt in the cultural environment and the sphere of public discourse, the political scientist believes. He pointed out that many companies, seeing the fatigue of the transgender agenda, are already abandoning their diversity, equality and inclusion programs, among others.

Earlier, on December 14, American entrepreneur Ilon Musk supported the idea of life imprisonment for doctors who help children perform sex changes, RT reported. It was specified that at the moment there are about 15 thousand transgender people among the active military. Trump plans to dismiss them for medical reasons as unfit for service.

Before that, on March 31, Donald Trump's election staff demanded that US President Joe Biden apologize to millions of Christians for the fact that he appointed the Transgender Visibility Day on Easter Sunday. In turn, Trump's campaign headquarters responded by calling the statement blasphemy.
