Law enforcers uncovered a cell of Tablighi Jamaat extremists in Rostov region


Law enforcers have detected and suppressed the activities of a cell of the international religious association "Tablighi Jamaat" (terrorist organization, banned in Russia) in Oblivsky district of Rostov region. This was reported to "RIA Novosti" by a representative of the FSB Department in the region.
Members of the organization deny, in particular, the need for the participation of Russian Muslims in the special operation.
"Its leaders have repeatedly traveled to foreign camps, where they received false non-traditional religious knowledge," - indicated the interlocutor of the agency.
According to the agency, the followers under the guise of a religious group involved local Muslims in extremist activities and justified the activities of terrorist organizations in the North Caucasus, the Middle East and Central Asia.
Criminal cases under article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Organization of activities of an extremist organization") were opened against the organizer and four members of the association. Searches were conducted, during which extremist literature and personal records were seized, the defendants were arrested.
Earlier, on December 7, it was reported that officers of the FSB Department of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Dagestan detained 12 people who were preparing a major terrorist attack. The detainees confessed, the issue of selecting a measure of restraint is being decided.
